The Home in China: Let the World Fall in Love with China thematic exchange event, hosted by Home In China and jointly organized by the Overseas Friends Association of Changning District, Shanghai, the Wang Xiaohui Art Museum, the Association of Friends of Wu Jianmin in France, and the Institute of Anthropology of Zhejiang University, with the support of the Shanghai University Research Center for Shanghai Culture and the United Front Think Tank Federation of Changning District, was successfully held in Changning District, Shanghai. This event brought together outstanding representatives from the fields of politics, academia, business, art, and media to discuss the significant role of people-to-people diplomacy in promoting cross-cultural understanding and building international trust, share vivid practices of multicultural exchanges, and look forward to a distant future where a "home" serves as a bond to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Wang Luoqing, a member of the Standing Committee of the Changning District Committee of the Communist Party of China, Minister of United Front Work, and President of the Overseas Friends Association of Changning District, Shanghai, attended the event and delivered a speech. He pointed out that since its launch, "Home In China" has visited cities both at home and abroad, including Shanghai, Shenyang, Zhuhai, New York, Vancouver, Sydney, and Tokyo, playing a crucial role in connecting the world. Today, "Home in China" returns to Shanghai, gathering in Changning, with the theme of "Home In China, Linking the World", which can be summed up in one sentence: "Let the world fall in love with China, starting from Shanghai and departing from Changning!" . It is hoped that through "Home In China", China's friendliness, openness, inclusiveness, as well as its market, environment and policies can be fully demonstrated, so that the voice of China can reach further and the broad-mindedness of a major country can be more vividly embodied.

The event centered on the core theme of "Let the World Fall in Love with China" and featured in-depth exchanges. Chen Dong, director of the Shanghai University's Haipai Culture Research Center, former deputy minister of the Publicity Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and former secretary of the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles; Xu Bo, chairperson of the "Wu Jianmin Friends Association" in France, recipient of the French Order of Arts and Letters, and author of "Let the World Love China"; Wang Xiaohui, a German-based cross-disciplinary artist, academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and professor, author of the autobiography "My Visual Diary"; Liang Yongjia, Zhejiang University's Qiu Shi Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and director of the Institute of Anthropology; Tang Jihui, a writer, curator, visiting professor at Tongji University, and a representative of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress; and Liu Qi, executive chairperson of Home In China, respectively shared their insights on "people-to-people diplomacy", "artistic exchanges", "Haipai culture", and "cultural mutual learning".

All the guests at the meeting unanimously agreed that in today's era when globalization is facing new challenges, it is even more necessary to use folk, cultural and everyday narrative methods to restore a real, three-dimensional and warm China. Many guests mentioned that from the joint consultation and construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative" to the international integration of Shanghai's urban communities, and then to the cross-border friendships of ordinary people on short video platforms, the folk are reshaping the emotional connection between China and the world with their unique vitality. It is hoped that through continuous activities, the wisdom and actions of all parties can be gathered to enable the world to truly understand and love China through countless specific "stories of people".
